Met Ball, 40 foto super glamour dal red carpet più ambito di tutti
È uno degli eventi glamour più attesi dell'anno, il red carpet più bramato dalle celebrity di tutto il mondo. Ieri sera Hollywood si è trasferita al Metropolitan Museum of Art di New York per festeggiare il Gala di beneficenza che tradizionalmente inaugura la mostra annuale di moda al Met. Ve lo raccontiamo, per hashtag: un riassunto punto per punto di tutto quello che vi siete persi di questo Met Gala (o Met Ball che dir si voglia) 2015. Dato che pure noi, anche quest’anno, siamo stati a casa a rosicare.
#Origini. Dal 1946 le persone più cool del pianeta si riuniscono per una buona causa, ovvero per raccogliere fondi destinati al Costume Institute del Metropolitan Museum. Si tratta di un appuntamento in cui industria della moda e delle celebrità si incontrano, in una sfida a chi calcherà il red carpet con l'abito più coreografico e griffato, in una sfida a colpi di look stratosferici, make up impeccabili ed hairstyle a dir poco scenografici.
#AnnaWintour. Dal 1999, il Met Ball è il party di Anna Wintour, la temutissima direttrice di Vogue, e dunque la personalità più influente della moda contemporanea. A lei il merito di aver trasformato una noiosa cena tra finanziatori nella raccolta fondi più efficace al mondo. Sotto il suo regno infatti sono stati raccolti ben 145 milioni di dollari. La fee (quota) di ingresso vale un minimo di 25mila dollari. Comunque, alla festa partecipano solo i personaggi che le vanno a genio.
#Cina. Il tema di quest’anno è China: Through the Looking Glass, dato che da lunedì 7 maggio al Met aprirà una mostra (visitabile fino al 16 agosto) dedicata all’influenza del costume orientale sulla moda occidentale, perché Met's Department of Asian Art celebra il 100esimo anniversario. E così il Met Ball si è svolto proprio nelle Gallerie Cinesi del museo. Segno che i tempi cambiano. La regia dell’esposizione è stata affidata a Wong Kar Way, il più occidentale dei registi cinesi. Chi meglio del director di In The Mood for Love poteva curare l’allestimento? La Cina è stata ovviamente anche il tema del dress code delle celebrity, che si sono ispirate alle fantasie d'Oriente per i loro outfit. E se pensavate di trovare draghi rossi infuocati o lanterne viventi, non resterete delusi.
#NoSelfie. Un grande freno per le scatenate fan dell’autoscatto come Kim Kardashian e compagnia bella. Se speravate di vivere in diretta i momenti salienti della serata ne rimarrete delusi. Sono stati bannati i selfie e gli aggiornamenti Twitter e Snapchat durante il red carpet e la serata. Un provvedimento di moda anche a Cannes. Forse mantenere la riservatezza sulla sbronza colossale che si prenderanno è raccomandato.
#Madrina. Nonostante lo scandalo delle foto osé, la star di Hunger Games, Jennifer Lawrence, è stata scelta per presentare l’evento. Accanto a Jennifer Lawrence, Gong Li, spalleggiata dall’amministratrice delegata di Yahoo, Marissa Mayer, Wendi Deng, e ovviamente, la direttrice di Vogue, Anna Wintour.
#AfterParty. Quest’anno a organizzare il party sono stati Lady Gaga ed Alexander Wang, che già di per sé costituivano ottimi presupposti di eccentrica fantasia. L’esperienza non manca e qui i selfie erano liberi.
#Bestdressed e #Worstdressed. Sul red carpet hanno sfilato le più luminose star di Hollywood. Dalla cantante pop Rihanna alla super top model Cara Delevingne, dall’attrice di Gossip Girl Blake Lively alla bella di 50 sfumature di grigio Dakota Johnson: la lista degli invitati al Met Ball è lunghissima e comprende attori, modelle, stilisti e tutto ciò che fa rima con Hollywood, star system e notorietà. Purtuttavia, scendere agli inferi del cattivo gusto è stato, in alcuni casi, più facile del previsto, anche se gli scivoloni di stile sono stati davvero pochi e gli sfarzi, invece, innumerevoli. Ecco le mise più spettacolari e discutibili andate in scena sulla scalinata del celebre museo.

- Ad aprire la serata non poteva non essere lei, la padrona di casa, Anna Wintour, che ha fatto il suo ingresso trionfale sul tappeto rosso sfoggiando un meraviglioso abito couture. Un tripudio di ricami e applicazioni floreali griffato Chanel.
- Con l’arrivo di Sarah Jessica Parker, la Cina non è mai stata così vicina. Il suo headpiece fiammante, creato da Phillip Treacy e ispirato ai tradizionali copricapi orientali, ha conquistato i flash di tutti i fotografi. È lei la regina del capodanno cinese di New York. Indiscrezione: il long dress monospalla che indossa è firmato H&M.
- Anne Hathaway è una visione onirica nel suo outfit total gold firmato Ralph Lauren.
- Kate Hudson stesso film, ma in Michael Kors. Un inno alla Golden Age.
- Rihanna calca la passerella con tanto di elmetto dorato sul capo, avvolta in un abito pelliccia canarino dallo strascico chilometrico realizzato da Guo Pei. Il trionfale mantello giallo, regale, formato XXL, ricamato con fiori dorati, tono su tono non passa inosservato. Sappiate che per realizzare questa mega “frittata”, cucita a mano da una sarta cinese, ci sono voluti più di due anni.
- Jennifer Lopez incarna la donna dragone nel suo abito Versace. Un inno conclamato alla terra del Sol Levante. Più sexy e provocante più che mai il suo outfit nude effect, dalle trasparenze decise. Assente il fidanzato on-off Casper Smart.
- Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Couture. La reginetta del Ballo ha mantenuto un profilo basso.
- Amal Clooney: un mille foglie rosso di Maison Margiela Couture. Tutto da gustare.
- Katy Perry and Jeremy Scott: in pendant Moschino, reduci da una notte di Carnevale a Las Vegas, dal Circo Orfei o dal Paese delle Meraviglie?
- Kim Kardashian e Kanye West in Roberto Cavalli. La coda piumata del long dress della Kardashian, creata per l’occasione da Peter Dundas, lascia di stucco. La sfida con Beyoncé per la mise più audace è aperta.
- Beyoncé: ma dov’è il vestito? E dov’è Beyoncé? La star ha deciso di ritardare la sua presenza sul red carpet del Met Gala di parecchi minuti tanto che i fotografi (che stavano già abbandonando il red carpet) si sono visti costretti a tornare indietro in fretta e furia. Quando si dice vezzi da diva.
- Cara Delevingne, forse credeva fosse l’anno di Halloween. Rimandata a settembre.
